Warsop Main Colliery From Opening To Closure (1889-1989)(Part 02)

128-In the other thinner seams at Warsop Main Colliery the machines used to cut the coal were Trepanners which produced larger coal than the shearers. The picture shows one of these machines trial built on the surface. When in action the front drum cuts the coal like coring an apple and the centre top turret blade and the jib at below square up the cut. Picture by courtesy of the British Information Dept.
